My debut novel came out years ago, yet over the past week I’ve had 3 different people reach out to tell me how moved they were by the story. One person said it helped her process the loss of her spouse. There’s such power in writing, and the work lives on long after it’s born.

- Get organized and educate others. Join local groups committed to the cause. Speak openly to influence those around you.

- Make lifestyle changes that suit you. Eat less meat. Buy less fast fashion. Take transit more. There’s so much we can do to make a positive impact.

This is the best I could come up with for today’s #GlobalClimateStrike, but at least it sums up my message: we’re behind the 8-ball, yes, but we still have a chance to avert climate devastation if we act now, together.

- Be careful with what you may be funding with your own money. Many investment portfolios fund fossil fuels and arms manufacturing. Speak with your planner/advisor to ensure your investments align with your values.
