@wipfng@womenfundng If these laws can be provided in hardcopy and handy in our judiciary system and facilities, issues of GBV in the judiciary level will be a walk over as perpetrators will face their due punishment which will serve a lesson to other offenders or prospective offenders

@wipfng@womenfundng When communities lead change through safe spaces, mentorship, and reporting systems GBV can be addressed sustainably and locally.

@wipfng@womenfundng Grassroots advocacy and sensitization remains the best approach.
Community education and engagement through youth clubs and religious/community leaders can shift mindsets. .

@wipfng If these laws are made available in hardcopy form and are handy, I believe cases of GBV being addressed in our judiciary system will certainly be a walk over

@wipfng@womenfundng Here in Ebonyi state, the Gender based taskforce have heard cases which have been handled using these laws.
I believe if this laws are strongly enforced, GBV can be combacted
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng Laws like the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act, Child Rights Act, and Criminal Code amendments offer protection. However, enforcement is weak due to poor awareness, stigma, and cultural resistance. More grassroots education and legal support are needed.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng This can be done through peer education, mentoring, and modeling healthy behavior, they can influence their peers and break the cycle of violence.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng Young men's engagement in the fight against GBV is very necessary.
Young men can challenge toxic masculinity, speak out against abuse, support survivors, and promote respect and equality.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng Early or child marriage is against Sexual reproductive health rights, and this has lead to high mortality rate among young pregnant Adolescent girls.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng Silence is often imposed on survivors, and victim-blaming is widespread. These norms protect perpetrators and discourage reporting or resistance.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng Cultural practices such as early or child marriage, preference of the boy child over the female, Inheritance denial, are still very predominant in my community this are very harmful GBV practices.
#XChatOnGBV
@wipfng@womenfundng The effects of GBV has lead to fear, absenteeism, low self-esteem, early marriage, and school dropout. It discourages girls from speaking up or taking leadership roles. In workplaces, harassment and discrimination force many out or prevent them from advancing.

@wipfng Subtle forms of gender based violence that young women in our communities face include; Sexist jokes, body shaming, controlling behavior masked as "protection" digital harassment, and denial of access to decision making. These forms are normalized and often dismissed
