St. John sophomore Emmet Delp continues to turn heads. The 6’7 forward had a monster night against Larned, finishing with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the Tigers’ win. Delp was ultra-efficient, going 9-for-13 from the field, a perfect 6-for-6 from three, and 8-for-8 at the free throw line. The win moved St. John to 4-1 on the season as they head into a big matchup at Kiowa County on Friday. Delp isn’t the only weapon for the Tigers either, as three other players are averaging double figures: Braxton Alpers (11.2 ppg), Jace Reyes (10.9 ppg), and Wyatt Mawhirter (10.3 ppg). Mawhirter also stuffed the stat sheet against Larned with 14 points and 10 assists in the win. #sportsinkansas

SIK Player to Watch: Sophomore Emmett Delp returns as one of Kansas’ most promising young prospects, bringing a rare blend of length, shot-making and upside to St. John after a strong freshman campaign. The 6’7 shooting guard averaged 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while stacking postseason honors, including CPL First Team, SIK Second Team and multiple all-tournament selections. Playing summer ball with KC Run GMC on the Under Armour Circuit, Delp enters this season with confidence and big expectations. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season. We’ve put in a lot of work and have been pushing each other to get better every day, so that we can compete for a state title,” he said. With a talented supporting group around him, Delp is set to take another step forward as one of 1A’s rising stars. #sportsinkansas
