'When it comes to the idea of trans women using women's bathrooms, absolutely they should'
Scottish Greens MSP Q Manivannanan has urged the Scottish Parliament to lift its ban on trans people using toilets in their lived gender in the building 👇
@adamndsmith I know a leadership group where all but two people in leadership are resigning. They're all former guides themselves. The two that are staying are only doing so to try and fight from the inside
@joybuzzarDx@ThomasWillett9 It is extreme, its an issue that has been stirred up for the sake of political talking points. 10 years ago, being in favour of trans rights was such a mild opinion that the Conservative party were in favour
@theSNP@billykayscot To those saying, "They can't": All these countries do it. France doesn't use any laws at all! Scotland can do this for the benefit of all yet some people are so full of hate that they rush to defend the supermarkets who make BILLIONS of POUNDS in PROFIT, over struggling families!
I know it sounds hard to believe but scotand wouldn't be the first country to do this! And when people aren't struggling to afford the essentials, theyll spend in other places, helping to stimulate the local economy
A re-elected SNP government will put a price cap on a basket of essential foods in large supermarkets, including basics like bread, milk and eggs, so families can afford the essentials and no one is priced out of a balanced diet.
Make it #BothVotesSNP on May 7 for a government that’s on your side.
I think a lot of people have really lost sight of what taxes actually are. We aren't paying the government just because– the government are just the channel through which we pay for public services.
It's frustrates me when a political party pledges something and people are in the comments saying "and taxpayers will pay for it!!" Well yeah, of course they will. That's what's taxes are for. How else do you expect our public services to be paid for??
@MarkBarrhead@theSNP Do you genuienly think that people who take the bus don't pay taxes? Especially those who would benefit from this change, which is almost exclusively those between 23 and 59 years old? Those most likely to be in work?
And don't be fooled by the talk of "protection" here, this is called benevolent sexism, where the desire to "protect" women stems from a belief that they are inherently weaker than men
I would love this but its also one of those things that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone considered going half way? Keep free travel for those who have it currently, and slash fares in half for the rest?
