@JakeWharton Disagree. I think what needs to change is the expectation that chats (text based) are synchronous. I love the fact that if someone pings me on Slack I don’t have to immediately stop what I’m doing to answer them, as opposed to someone tapping on my shoulder.

@amesflames That's funny. I came back earlier (knee surgery) and I dream I go back from time to time. In the dream I explain my companion how I'm married with kids but they let me go back to finish it. Tho weird, I never resented these dreams.

@steipete While it may not be the norm, I do think it doesn't hurt for several reasons already stated in other comments. Personally I've experienced first hand what *being siloed* means, and learning other languages help break that barrier.
