My last night in Edinburgh (for now) was a beautiful, but tough one full of very similar emotions to what I had leaving Vancouver. Saying goodbye to friends and family is always so tough for me. Scotland has truly become my home away from home. Until we meet again! 💗😢xx
Hard to believe it was 10 years ago today that I finished my two-year adventure working in whisky in #Scotland and left #Edinburgh to return to Vancouver — and start the job search that ultimately brought me to wine country in Osoyoos. 🍷🥃

Ten years later, it’s pretty amazing to look back at where that decision took me. So many experiences, friendships, challenges, adventures and memories — and somehow, almost a decade in Osoyoos! 🍷
Reposting my last night in Edinburgh, #10years ago today… 💗

& working to secure enough sponsorship to keep the competition accessibly priced for commercial & home brewers. And holy smokes they sure did that with this roadshow, the ticket was only $10 including samples and a tasting glass! Thanks James & Josh for the great session!
Enjoyed going to the ‘Ogopogo Brewers Challenge’ Roadshow Workshop at Neighborhood Brewing this week!
An intensive sensory workshop hosted by Josh Wyatt and James Clark where they reviewed what the Beer Judge Certification Program is…

Also got a surprise brewery tour of Neighbourhood Brewing after with Darren, Director of Brewing Operations for YDBEVCO!
Although Ogopogo Brewers Challenge website says cancelled for this year, stay tuned as they are contemplating the timing of it…

A “small” box arrived in Nov-small for home building supplies inside instead of 🥃. I’ve been spending numerous evenings tasting whisky after work snuggled up downstairs, which sometimes attractors visitors.

Another year judging The Whisky Explorer Awards (@tweawards) is in the books!!
As judges, we don’t know a single thing about the whisky beyond what we see in the glass. The goal is to find the best whisky available in Canada, no matter the country they are from.

So sad to come across an article about a few US breweries that have gone bankrupt and to see @RogueAles is one of them! Brewing since 1988 & Dead Guy Ale brewed since the 90’s😢
I later noticed Annabel had a bottle on hold at The Vaults that she ended up getting elsewhere, or maybe was just kind enough to let me buy it. Savoured slowly and shared with many over the last 10 years.
Was fun to recently acquire a tiny heel of Millions of Peaches 128.17💗
As purple as Prince #SMWS 128.5, the hardest heel kill ever!
A fave bottle I got when living in Scotland that I was so lucky to be able to buy. I enjoyed a dram with friends over lunch at Queen Street before heading to Islay. When I got back to work at The Vaults it sold out.
