@jordanqsar_ They should be told this too... There's a 99.94% chance not one kid on this team will play in MLB. 0.5% of high school senior baseball players get drafted, and less than 0.03% of all youth baseball players ever make it to the Major Leagues. Youth sports are not an investment.
Its becoming bothersome seeing the conduct of some of the underclassmen in high school baseball.
Firstly, the phrase, "you never know who is watching." Is very true.
Yes I am the R.C. for Coastal Bend College. But I also umpire during the summer.
@_adamcrowley@CALLAS_33 Right call but why is Billy Cooke even in the majors?? To hold a cone?!? This organization is the pure definition of Murphy’s Law!!
All six starting pitchers that have been used by the teams in the College World Series Finals were recruited out of high school to their respective programs.
"I've always believed with my pitching background that if you're 17 or 18 years old, and you got command, and you know 90-92 with three pitches, that usually doesn't go backwards."
In fact, out of the last six teams to play in the CWS Finals (UNC, OU, LSU, Coastal Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M) 15 of the 17 (88%) starting pitchers used on their first three gamedays in Omaha were recruited to their institutions out of H.S.
"It's good recruiting by both sides and I think that's why we're both in the finals,” Forbes added.

🧵 The 7 things college baseball coaches evaluate that have nothing to do with your son's swing or velocity.
After 35 years on both sides of recruiting, here's what actually moves the needle:
I had a conversation with a Power 4 college coach who’s been doing this for 25+ years.
We were talking about the mentality of high school players during the recruiting process.
Here’s what he told me:
“What these kids don’t realize is…
I don’t care how many followers you have.
I don’t care how many home runs you hit in travel ball.
I don’t care how many offers you have.
I don’t care about your ranking.
I don’t care how hard you can hit a ball.
I don’t care about your metrics.
The only thing I care about is this:
Are you going to produce in between those white lines when we play this season?”
Then he said something else that hit:
“They’ve been so protected that the first time they fail, they quit… or they transfer.”
And here’s the part that matters.
The biggest development mistake I see?
Players don’t plan for failure.
They plan for success.
They visualize success.
They expect success.
But they don’t prepare for 0-4.
They don’t prepare for getting booed.
They don’t prepare for sitting the bench.
They don’t prepare for struggling for 3 weeks.
So when it happens — and it will — they panic.
Instead of executing a pre-made plan, they try to create one while emotional.
That never works.
Failure is coming.
The question is:
Did you already decide how you’re going to handle it?
@ThePoniExpress Not worth $30 million at all!!! Why waste money at this point??? Not sure he is worth $15 million either. If we are going to take our lumps lets have Howard get hos feet wet and get someone younger than Rodgers.
