@meellinGC@ClemsonGC Desired target audiences getting more specific means it's more important than ever to have information on consumers for the sake of advertising. I've used ads through Facebook a few times and it's amazing how much control you have over who sees what.
@ElainaMorgan_@ClemsonGC This is an interesting piece on the liquidity of markets in both printing and in print. The fact that there are significant backlogs makes it hard for either paper producers or printers to change production quickly. Interesting seeing how material providers are inelastic.
It is interesting how some packages and packaging types will have market shifts with other products. Glass has been a favorite for years in beer and spirits, but now it is being used in organic and health related products on the rise. https://t.co/vDR1qOJl9c @ClemsonGC#gcflexo
This article discusses advancements in food and beverage packaging. I particularly enjoyed the part about adding near-field communication patterns to the lids of water bottles or other packages to not slow down label printing. https://t.co/BjSRtOCPy9 @clemsonGC#gcflexo
There is exponential growth of an estimated 8.1% per year for printing in India. A rise in literacy rates, commercial income, and branding makes this more important than ever. It's interesting seeing political trends impact industries. https://t.co/d9Qw5lUAF5 @ClemsonGC#gcflexo
This is a good read about Flexography innovating to compete with shorter press runs and lowering downtime between jobs. I was shocked to see features that allow for automatic registration and a press with no knobs on it! https://t.co/7IgZESK6YI @ClemsonGC#gcflexo
@oakwithoutroots @ClemsonGC The weight of the anilox roller isn't something that I would typically consider, but if it allows us to surpass the current web speed in a press then it should certainly be used! Sometimes I take things as constants, but with innovative thinking we can change even our machinery.
@klawson_gc@ClemsonGC Good read on the ways to keep secure documents from being counterfeited. I liked the points about easy to understand techniques that could help the general public in addition to those who are used to it. If I was handed a fake document I wonder if I would know the difference...
The rate of forgery increasing means that we'll need more complicated printed products. From money orders to banknotes, new developments are needed to take steps forward and make forgery more difficult for those with bad intentions. https://t.co/qSBtXzhlIg @ClemsonGC#gcflexo
@jnm2_clemson@ClemsonGC Now only if it can calibrate their monitors too... Until monitors can guarantee Pantone colors that aren't achievable on the monitor currently, I will continue to put my hopes in soft proofs and Pantone color books. I do hope a better solution comes out soon, but I can wait.
@megan_evanosky @ClemsonGC I'll have to tune in next week to see how well this process works! I doubt we'll have it in Godfrey anytime soon but anything that makes drawdowns easier.
@MVongsiraksa @ClemsonGC I have often been worried about digital overtaking the industry, but as long as we learn all of the possibilities with printing, other types of printing will still be more affordable in big press runs. Less competition just means more jobs for us!
I was curious on checking up on the developments of conductive inks and it's looking like it's moving away from screen printing towards flexography as the ink components get thinner. This opens up printing on other surfaces! https://t.co/Kdp56Kagwb @ClemsonGC#gcflexo
@pmizzle96 @ClemsonGC My brother is an Environmental Sustainability major at Appalachian State and he always appreciates the steps that we can take in order to help the world. Although print is important to market, we can use alternative inks that are better for the environment. Every bit counts!
@megan_radziwon@ClemsonGC I have been having trouble creating brands for my clubs on campus, and this provides clear and inclusive guidelines for everything that I'd need to do. It's a really complete article, and I will be following its advice in the future as I try to re-brand my clubs.
@pmizzle96 @ClemsonGC Graphic Communications is an amazing field for finding a job, so I imagine that training young people in this area will help turn them into marketable individuals for other fields too!
@RachelRitter17 @ClemsonGC As someone who pays more attention to email than social media, I can understand the appeal. Email feels much more personalized than a post on social media that is viewable by everyone.
@Kailey_N_Arnold@ClemsonGC I could understand the idea of people who want to go "brandless" and not support big corporations, but there are so many generic products that I think they'd be in for some tough competition without any way to distinguish themselves.
@klawson_gc@ClemsonGC Stock images are super important, and a good stock image can help get people's attention very well. If you ever need stock images, I would suggest ones from https://t.co/mLWAVyUD5s as these have worked well for me in the past.
@poungelexx It's interesting how programs like Photoshop can interpret being colorblind in the same way that someone's eye could. I can only imagine how complicated it would be initially determining exactly how a colorblind person would see.
