I have learnt to say all of these when appropriate x the worst one I had to my parents that I needed help and my mother angrily told me “that we don’t ask for help “ and then blamed my father for my problem. Thankfully she is dead. I loved my father and I often wondered why he married her! Thankfully I approached my Director at work and he supported me to do anything that i needed to do. Unfortunately my father died from emphysema but he was a brilliant chemistry tutor amongst a number of other things he was good at and he always took time to play with me when I was young and meet my friends. My mother would not allow my friends to come over. And she shut the door on my first boyfriend as she guessed he was the wrong religion! I still speak with him but he told me recently that my mother would drop the phone handle when she heard his voice so I didn’t even know that he had called!!! Xxx
