We collectively need to start addressing the elephant in the room; Marcus Rashford’s persistent inconsistency over the years.

​Watching him perform well on loan at Barcelona last season led a large portion of the fan base to question the decision to let him go in the first place. Yet, now that he is back in the squad, he is barely contributing to the team's progression on the pitch.

​The fact that Barcelona chose not to trigger their buy option speaks volumes about their assessment of his long-term work rate and commitment.

A player who has publicly sought a new challenge and called Manchester United an unstable environment should not continue to receive unconditional support or status.

​While Rashford’s history as an academy graduate and his achievements make him an iconic figure at Old Trafford, elite clubs building for the future cannot afford to rely on passengers.

For both parties, parting ways appears to be the cleanest path forward.
