Let me tell y’all something. And let me be clear, so there’s little to no confusion.
Fiction ALWAYS has to make sense. ALWAYS.
Saying anything different is a cop out.
Do better.
An editor’s job isn’t to take over your story.
It’s to help the work read the way you intended it to.
The strongest manuscripts are shaped through collaboration.

There’s no single way to write well, but there are practices that make the process feel lighter and more sustainable. These are a few I share often with the authors I work with.
One of the best pieces of writing advice is also the most overlooked:
Read.
Read books in your genre. Read books outside your genre.
Read new books. Old books.
Books by local authors and international authors.
