@PSA_Sitch Latin American people and countries have been heavily influenced by the USA since their formation and we're pretty culturally similar to the Americans.
But Americans are SCARED of hearing Spanish in their country. The protection of "American culture" is thinly veiled racism.

The "protection" is an excuse to preserve the cultural advantage the Americans have because they're scared of adopting (small) parts of other cultures.
