Given their rich set of interlinked metadata CRISs are important resources to find PIDs and so essential for a true FAIR data infrastructure

PID's of research objects/data require (to be "surrounded" by) rich contextual metadata (such as stored in CRIS) in order to be findable.

PID's often considered as "full" solution to find research info or data. But if you cannot find the PID's themselves they are useless.
