Norwegian New Yorker designing & animating for clients like @StackOverflow @WSJ @DJIGlobal @voxdotcom @MSF_USA @CNN @NBCNews. Now also @[email protected]
Popping in on this cursed platform to retweet that a bizarre project of mine is featured on It's Nice That! The article includes some of my thoughts on AI as an artist and designer, along with truly deranged renderings of celebrities kissing their doppelgängers. Check it out!
@LaMonicaBuzz@CNN Hey Paul, I’m sorry to hear this is happening to you, and to anyone else I know in the CNN universe! It seems to be the way of the world. But I think the best thing I can say is that there is life on the other side. MORE life, probably. Best of luck.
An oldie but GOALdie, as an animator of great wit would say. And I am one such animator, as evidenced by this tweet, which, for maximum impact, is expertly timed to current events.
I'm just going to announce now, before the World Cup starts, that Denmark will win the whole thing. They've been practicing together all season in the Premier League with their cunning Trojan horse strategy.
I'll retweet this after the final to gain immense clout.
@DoomGolly Also, I kind of enjoy being a failure on Twitter — just sort of talking to myself in the corner while enjoying all the commotion around me. It's not unlike the feeling I have sitting at a cafe, just taking in the life around me. I don't talk to myself at cafes though 😃
Everything that's happening on here is hilarious in a certain kind of way, but it's also really sad, not just for the employees. Twitter has been my place on the Internet for years. It has brought a few friends or at least acquaintances, a few jobs, and a lot of laughs.
@DoomGolly Yes. I grew my following many years ago, and then it stagnated — but I've gotten closer to building a community here than anywhere else. As Twitter has become less effective for me, nothing has taken its place, and it's difficult right now to see what will.
Every visualization you've seen on the very real problem of space junk has enlarged the junk — otherwise you wouldn't really see it. This is an #animation loop I made about that, for Stack Overflow, using a combo of Blender 3D and After Effects for 2D-ification. 😀
I downloaded my Twitter archive, and lazily browsing through it later I went "this guy's got amazing taste and funny jokes and interesting links" until I remembered it was my feed and thus knew the data doesn't support this take
I created this #animation loop about faster space travel (illustrating a Stack Overflow question on the subject), which perhaps surprisingly gave me a chance to revel in bubble-based shapes. #aftereffects
Zuck's VR gamble seems to be doomed, yet he appears 100% committed. I'm fascinated by it. I don't see how it works out for Meta, but the size of the bet makes you wonder. Anyway, this bad review of their headset has a very worthwhile comments section! https://t.co/JW3NhA8Cop
Placebos are the same thing as sugar pills, but has anyone thought about the possibility that it’s sugar that is healing all diseases? It’s time we stop vilifying sugar
When the ask was to illustrate a question about how tracking for early computer mice worked, I took the opportunity to riff on the old Amiga 500 design, and threw in some carbonated Coke in remembrance of the era that set me on the night owl path I still walk today!

A common path for people who love to design looks something like this:
designing > art directing > managing > running a business
Eventually you're doing zero of the thing you loved. This will be Elon's fate owning Twitter, except he loves shitposting rather than designing.
@Thisis_jelly Oh yeah, links! Find me @edlundart everywhere, and visit https://t.co/Gm57UUmW8G — I even have an old Tumblr (https://t.co/8L2UnMrjbV) and a new Mastodon (@[email protected]).
@Thisis_jelly Hello! I run a one-man design and animation studio in NYC, and this is an example of some fun loops I made for Stack Overflow. Other clients include Vox, NBC, WSJ, DJI, blah blah. I also make weird personal animation projects nobody cares about. 😀
I'm hopeful (though not super optimistic) that Twitter eventually gets past this period, and I'm even less super optimistic that Mastodon is the future, but I started an account on there anyway — so if you're heading that way, you can follow me @[email protected]
