@ExpresMK Култът към Кирил и Методий се създава в България от Симеон I, години след смъртта им. След провалената мисия във Великоморавия, България е единственият приемник на делото им.
@velikinoldini@Andric1961 Apart from the socio-economic difficulties that affected all of Europe during the two wars, nothing extraordinary happened there. In fact, in both cases there was a well-documented, strong pro-Bulgarian sentiment.
@velikinoldini@Andric1961@BiankaB12 Not at all, lol. Anything originating from Yugoslavia was embraced without question in the West. The first official Macedonian grammar was released in English by an American author, even before it was available in Macedonian.
@velikinoldini@Andric1961@BiankaB12 The first paragraph basically proves my point, lol. But in general, this book is a prime example of how Western authors had a pro-Yugoslav bias post WWII.
@Andric1961@BiankaB12 "But in WWI, during the occupation in WWII"
Any actual proof of those claims that isn't pure propaganda? In both cases, Bulgarian troops were welcomed as liberators. In WWII, Bulgarian occupation zone was the safest place in Yugoslavia.
@mannavdatora@Andric1961 Every authoritarian regime needs an external enemy. Since Yugoslavia was leeching from both the West and the Soviet Union, Bulgaria was a convenient choice. This led to a broad spy network, territorial aspirations, hate speech, and the encouragement of local nationalism in SRM.
@mkdsun2@Andric1961 Maybe if you hadn't been so brainwashed, you would have responded more appropriately to Bulgaria’s attempts at rapprochement since the 90s.
@Mahan8448776435@Bulgaria Not all steppe nomads were Turkic. There’s no explicit mention of east asian features for Bulgars in contemporary sources (unlike later Mongols or Turks). The Dulo clan were Christians, wrote in Greek, built states everywhere they went, carrying a strong political tradition.
@Mahan8448776435@Bulgaria Choniates is a Byzantine source who emphasizes some Vlach element in an attempt to delegitimise the rebellion. Pope Innocent III confirms continuity between the Asen dynasty and the earlier tsars.
@Mahan8448776435@Bulgaria Erdogan propaganda bots are at it again.😭
Oghuric is a language group (distinct from other steppe languages), not an ethnicity. Genetic studies show Bulgars were 99% Europid. The Second Bulgarian Empire was founded by the old aristocratic class - confirmed by Pope Innocent III.
