@mckaycoppins@WalkerWright86@ChristoffDTodd Unpopular opinion here-I think it’s because the warnings men need and concern for their welfare aren’t a top priority for churches. I’m sure there are exceptions, but in some ways my church (Mormon) hasn’t been one.
Ive had a hard time taking McKay Coppins seriously since an exchange on Declaration of Independence with Katy Tur. Neither of them seemed well informed about the document or the framers ideas about where our rights come from. That was demoralizing as I didn’t think that my opinion of our journalism class could get much lower and yet it did.
I saw that too and noted the name correction and wondered why she would do that? I think most of the commenters are okay. To be honest I haven’t listened much lately-all the gloom and doom about the election isn’t fun. I get it, my side will lose this November but I don’t need to hear about it all the time!
@realsashastone@QuakerGirlsRule She’s got a huge business now and a bottom line to protect and lots of salaries depending on it. Also, I think Charlie’s assassination did a real number on a lot of people and they didn’t respond with the fortitude the moment demanded.
@realsashastone@QuakerGirlsRule I don’t think she had any real rage for Israel, she chose the Tucker lane for business reasons. Then the backlash came (a lot of it was mean and unfair) and now she’s emotional and dug in. Sorry to be cynical about it.
@DanEllsworthVA Exactly. It’s just heartbreaking. I like to think I’m humble enough to say that I dont know what is the right thing to do. So much sadness.
I feel your pain. My son was four, my daughter was two. I had decided to give up teaching because my salary wouldn’t pay for childcare, which meant my husband worked two jobs and we never saw each other. The only car we could afford was an old minivan we paid cash for and whose AC and transmission promptly broke 5 days after we bought it, leaving me and the kids stranded on the side of the road. This was 2002 and I didn’t have a cell phone so I carried the baby on my hip and made the four year old hold my hand and we walked 2 miles in over 100 degree heat to the nearest library. When I got there I was a beet-red sweaty mess. The librarian let me use the phone but while I was dialing the kids got away from me and started running thru the stacks. I got off the phone as quickly as I could to try to corall them. Have you ever chased a 4 year old and a 2 year through a library? It was an impossible task for a sleep deprived, heat exhausted and car less woman. My efforts did not impress the librarian who came over to tell me that my children were out of control and I needed better parenting skills. I broke down too. The icing on the cake was when my friend picked us up, that old, shriveled battle axe handed me a parenting pamphlet on the way out the door. It took everything I had to not throw it in her face!
@YesItsjust@annbauerwriter Oh my goodness! I’ve read about the $20,000 designer dorm rooms so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised 😱. My friend’s daughter went through rush at Alabama and it was something else!
