Even most sensitive urine pregnancy and blood tests can only detect few days prior to menses and even then may give false neg results.

You should have a knowledge foundation to work off of BEFORE starting residency otherwise what’s the point? By your argument, anyone can start a residency without basic medical education and understanding.

Point is NPs want to be independent and be viewed as equals to MDs/DOs but then ask questions to those not involved in care and as you pointed out may not know some details that would drive treatment. This is dangerous.
