It is my honour to pass the baton to my dear sister, the Hon Shirley @AyorkorBotchwey, who will succeed me as the next Commonwealth Secretary-General.

She will be uniquely blessed, as I have been, to hold this office and serve our precious Commonwealth.

[Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey @AyorkorBotchwey]

I’m honoured and humbled by the trust of Commonwealth leaders. A lot of work lies ahead. But together, we shall work for a New Commonwealth that works for all its citizens.

[Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey @AyorkorBotchwey]

Truly humbled by the overwhelming support of the Commonwealth Heads of Government in selecting me as the incoming Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. The work indeed lies ahead!

[Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey @AyorkorBotchwey]

Earlier today I held a meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, H. E. Most Rev. Henryk M. JAGODZINSKI. We discussed matters of common interest between the Holy See and the Republic of Ghana and I acknowledged the invaluable support of the Catholic Church to Ghana.

[Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey @AyorkorBotchwey]

I am glad to have hosted H.E. Meshal Hamdan Al-Rogi, who is completing his tour of duty as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ghana. I commended him for his efforts at deepening the existing excellent and long-standing relations between the Ghana and Saudi Arabia.
