It has been the greatest joy and privilege of my life to serve as the 6th Secretary-General of the #Commonwealth.
I am profoundly grateful to our member countries, @CommonwealthSec staff, partners and the entire Commonwealth family for walking with me on this journey.
#NGIC Secretariat met with our member Patricia Scotland (@PScotlandKC ), former Commonwealth Secretary-General and Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, in #London.
The future of multilateralism is being shaped by leaders committed to dialogue, inclusion and global cooperation.
Through dialogue, bridge-building and engagement across regions, the remains committed to supporting a stronger, more inclusive and more effective multilateral system.
We are honored that distinguished Members of our Center are among the global voices contributing to discussions on the future leadership of the United Nations, including candidates for the position of Secretary-General.
In a fractured world, principled leadership, diplomacy and international cooperation matter more than ever.
@NizamiGanjaviIC It’s so good to participate in the discussions at the World Urban Forum in Baku as we seek to find the implementable strategies which will satisfy the needs of the 2.8bn people living in inadequate conditions and 300m who are homeless.

🇧🇲👋 What a wonderfully warm welcome to Bermuda! Thank you to all who came out to say hello.
In King’s Square, The King was formally welcomed to the island with a military ceremony by the Royal Bermuda Regiment and a 21-gun salute.
On behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, and on my own behalf, I extend warmest congratulations to Prime Minister @GastonBrowne on the renewed mandate given to him by the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

A new global milestone for human fraternity.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity’s film, “Heartbeat of Humanity,” has won first place in two categories at @TheWebbyAwards 2026—the Jury Award and the People’s Choice, as voted by millions worldwide. A powerful reminder: when human values are told with sincerity, they move hearts and transcend borders.
My sincere thanks to the entire @ZayedAward team for this inspiring achievement. Together, we move forward in supporting stories that reflect the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed and initiatives that bring people closer—guided by our belief in a better world rooted in humanity and compassion.

“I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service.”
On her 21st birthday in 1947, Queen Elizabeth II pledged to devote her life to the service of her people. She remained true to her word – undertaking official duties up until her final days.
Tomorrow would have been her 100th birthday. Ahead of events to mark the anniversary, we look back on Her late Majesty’s life and work.
“God bless you, darling Mama; you remain forever in our hearts and prayers.”
A special tribute from His Majesty The King on what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday.

“Where they are obliged to go, it’s one where people are choosing to come to be the difference that they need to make. And the fact that people want to think out of the box and come up with solutions, not just talk, means that we actually bridge this divide in a way that gets us safely from where we are now to where we most aspire to be, creating the feeling that it is possible.”

The flaws in this Private Members Bill have been laid bare, the risks are clear and unaddressed, the safeguards are ineffective. If assisted death is to permitted it can not be in this form nor through this process.
After hours of scrutiny, and no meaningful changes to the Bill accepted, experts and professional bodies have not changed their position:
The Assisted Dying Bill remains deeply flawed and unsafe.
Bill supporters blame everyone else but won’t make the Bill safe.
