Normalcy Bias :
People believe things will continue to be "normal" because nothing bad has happened so far. “I’ve been driving like this for 10 years and nothing happened” is a common justification.

Optimism Bias :
People believe that it won’t happen to them. They see crash videos but mentally label victims as “other careless people”.

Random Reinforcement :
Take children as example. When they show tantrums, if adults give them some gifts to pamper, they will assume that,if they show tantrums,they will get gifts. It creates that reinforcement in their minds.

Same thing on the road. You drive on the road without seatbelts for 999 times and do not end up in a crash. We start to believe that, seatbelts are not necessary to keep us safe. Same thing with driving while talking on phone etc.

It tricks our brain that, its safe to do so.

These create a gambling mindset and we start taking risks.
