. @andy4wm West Midlands Pension Fund invests ยฃ565 million in fossil fuels. Will you pledge to support divestment from fossil fuels if you are elected?
Great Coventry Telegraph article about how Coventry needs to step up to the climate crisis and set strong targets. Encouraging to read strong local climate reporting. https://t.co/cfeZY0C3uT
@ruthcumming The folks at the tip are always fine when I bring the cargo bike full of cartons. Shame about the web form which requires a CAR numberplate.
If @michaelgove gives the go-ahead to the #CumbriaCoalMine tomorrow it will be an absolute disaster. Nobody will take UK seriously on climate. It must not go ahead.

As a decision on granting permission for a new coal mine in Cumbria looms, some facts:
- 85% of coal produced would be for export, not domestic use
- two major UK steel producers wonโt necessarily use much of the coal, not least due to its composition and sulphur content
This massive, self-inflicted disaster isn't just on the government.
It's on the dark-money thinktanks who shaped its catastrophic policies.
It's on the billionaire media, which championed them.
It's on the BBC, which for years has granted a vast platform to extreme cultists.
I keep re-reading this. It's gobsmacking. It's so extremely pure. According to @Shell 's own internal documents, climate action is for society at large, for the economy at large, but never, ever for them. Not on a timescale that would matter in terms of averting the worst. My god
Govt's response to the @EnergyCrisis is a huge step backwards for people & planet:
๐จ dozens of new North Sea oil & gas licences
๐จ re-starting fracking
๐จ refusing to tax the record profits of the oil & gas giants
๐จ threatening to remove green levies.
We have to push back

The UK Government has made an ad about the spiralling cost of living crisis, and itโs surprisingly honest and informative ๐ฌ๐ง

@LizClements@BrumCJC @kaz4den @birminghamcg22 My personal take is that cuts over the last thirty years of overall local authority council funding should be reversed, so lobbying should be number one. But also why not look at CAZ expansion and doing what London did and ploughing revenue back to busses etc.
One of the reasons I appreciate twitter is because it gives me some glimpse of how people reason. But this also terrifies me. Here are some logical fallacies I have observed that I find so outlandish, it's hard for me to find ways to debunk them.

The Tories tell us that First Past the Post is the best voting system, but don't even use it to pick their own leader! Join me and @MakeVotesMatter in calling for an end to unrepresentative minority rule: https://t.co/9R5k0M0ue6
Humbled to have received the support of so many people in Brandwood and Kings Heath. Looking forward to getting down to work with @David4BKH to make our community an even better place to be. ๐น
