@JohnKerry it appears my daughter’s future is in your hands. I urge you to do the right thing and stand up to the polluters at COP28 to ensure that she and billions of children like her get the chance of the kind of life you and I have enjoyed.
There is barely anything left to distinguish the current @UKLabour from the Tories. If they roll back on their climate pledges I will actively campaign against them.
I get emails allowing me to opt out of marketing around Mother’s Day because I might find it triggering. What if I find it triggering to be reminded that my head of state’s only qualification for the role is the fact their ancestor killed the most other potential heads of state?
The bags for my flight have now been ‘arriving’ for over an hour @HeathrowAirport T3. A perfect introduction to what a dysfunctional joke this country has become for all the visitors standing around waiting for their luggage.
@cherthedev Forever down to your price is a box? 🥴 (yes I know this makes no sense)
But then I was well into my twenties before I discovered Kate Bush didn’t make a deal with god to “get into small places”.
@PippaCrerar It was definitely the left wing economic establishment that was shorting gilts in the days after the whatever-they-called-that-non-budget.
@sophie_hines1 Sort of by accident I started taking Beta glucans a while after my first bout of covid and it really lifted the fog. I haven’t had a proper bug all winter. Then again I had the flu shot, I still wear a mask on the tube and my daughter’s only had like 3 colds this winter, so 🤷
@HopeNow84@nigellawrence37@RichardJMurphy The numbers don’t support this argument. If there was a genuine supply issue they would have sold less gas at a higher price = roughly the same profit.
What actually happened was mass profiteering based on a fear of supply side issues that never really materialised.
@HopeNow84@RichardJMurphy Companies like Shell receive billions in tax breaks and subsidies, so yes everyone has tacitly agreed to that for years. Time for payback.
Our van has been stolen last night! Wildax Solaris. Stolen from near Livingston, Scotland. MX15 AWM. Distinctive roof rack with uprights for kayaks. Please share.
Does anyone who isn’t on the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee think that interest rate rises will have any effect on #inflation caused almost exclusively by high energy costs?
@monsterbobby@danhancox I thought it was rubbish to start with: more retro sci-fi drivel. Then it got really good, then there was series 3, when the writers clearly lost any sense of narrative thread and presumably said “let’s make it a bit like Lost”.
Whilst this is obviously bad news for the recipients, it’s good news for me, cos it means now no one can try to guilt me into buying stuff from Amazon.
@netcapgirl Hahaha none of the current nonsense is going to bring about AGI or luxury communism. It’s just going to flood the world with meaningless regurgitated content whilst burning through energy/hardware at an astonishing rate. The best hope for chill is to keep trading semiconductors.
