I was interested in the ways #precarious workers practice #leadership, and how #barriers can be used to their advantage; also using new forms or technology to enable a more powerful form of #activist leadership. #OUB329
I found the topic of resistance interesting, as I have seen it affect my own workplace. Fleming and Spicer's (2007) power and resistance framework helped me understand the different types of #power and the #resistance they likely provoke, and how I can manage this at work #OUB329
@B329Leadership Week 14 Introduced the leadership challenge, and 'Place-based leadership'. This type of leadership is focused #locally, for challenges affecting a certain place, and tends to be #collaborative and #participative. #OUB329
This session has made me think about the ways I would #manage a #collaborative situation, ensuring a #win-win outcome for my own #aims, and those of others. It is important to work out our #common aims and goals, and making #compromises.
This session has been useful in seeing #conflict as a way to improve and innovate, rather than assuming it is always negative. I have learnt how important it is to consider other #perspectives in conflict in order to be a better #leader myself. #OUB329
@B329Leadership This week explored #conflict and #leadership, the reasons conflict can arise, and how conflict isn't always negative - it can lead to innovation and improvement - through #ConstructiveDissent. We also considered conflict from different perspectives. #OUB329
This has inspired me to utilise our #networked society, to maximise the sharing of ideas, and not focus solely on the idea of hierarchy in leadership, but creating a networked environment where #followers feel positive and free to express their ideas #OUB329
The activities this week have prompted me to think about how I use #collaboration in my work, and also the ways I can improve, the skills and the ways to lead and support collaborative team work. I have learnt many characteristics of collaborative #leadership. #OUB329
@B329Leadership This week introduced the importance of #collaboration and #CollaborativeLeadership. We looked at different skills and ways of working and leading collaboratively, and considered our own skills and abilities in collaboration. #OUB329
I am now more aware of the different leadership styles, and the importance of adapting leadership to be more #inclusive. I understand the importance of #boundaryless leadership in bringing together #diverse teams, and being a flexible, open-minded leader #OUB329
@B329Leadership This encouraged me to look at my own #identity and #leadershipstyle, and how others perceive me; and think about who I want to become as a leader in the future. This will encourage me to be more aware of my own leadership traits. #OUB329
@B329Leadership This week explored how precarity, populism and multiculturalism are #represented in public discourse; and how it is important to consider different perspectives of #leadership. #OUB329
