Ministers have promised early diagnosis clinics for osteoporosis more than 60 times. Two years on, there’s still no plan. Meanwhile, 2,000 people die each year from injuries these clinics prevent. Patients can’t wait any longer.
Who the hell does Rishi Sunak think he is to behave in such an arrogant, petulant and rude manner? Refusing to meet with the Greek PM because he didn’t like hearing the truth about the Parthenon marbles? Disgusting and shameful. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
@leahlee2021 Well, imagine a campaign raising awareness about drug addiction using graphic images of intravenous drug use or a campaign against GBV showing explicit scenes of violence; wouldn’t that be triggering for those affected? It’s the same with a serious mental illness like anorexia.
Just watched the newest Dove advert and was horrified about how triggering it was. Using anorexia now as a way to promote their products? This is a new all time low. Had to switch channel. Not ok.
@ValentinaESL Lowering young people’s expectations and damaging their aspirations is the typical response of mental health agencies and educational institutions. Instead of excluding and ostracising those who struggle perhaps it is the education system itself that needs to change!
When my daughter was in junior high, we had a meeting with the school counselor because she was struggling academically.
I’ll never forget what the counselor told me because it hurt my mama’s heart. She told me that college wasn’t in my daughter’s best interest. She wanted us to lower the bar.
But you see, as the expert in this child, I knew she was capable and gifted. I knew she could do anything she set her mind to do.
It may not have happened in the time span typically given but it happened nonetheless. I’m so proud of her determination and perseverance.
Instead of lowering expectations, support children, believe in them, show them that they can do nearly anything they set their minds on doing.
How the hell can a prospective PM…
Who will be elected by 0.3% of the population
To be leader of the Conservative & Unionist Party, no less
Publicly say she’ll "just ignore” the democratically elected leader of the 2nd largest nation in the UK?!
…reckon she’ll regret that.
Belarusian photographer Pavlo Krichko created a portrait of putin based on photos he had seen during the 57 days of war in Ukraine. "Tears, pain, suffering, death, rocked debts, evil, non-humanity - everything is in this image,' he says.
