@SaltyChaos@BearForceCubHQ@GeneralJosovic@PlayStation I only do PC now, I personally just can't justify the cost of consoles any more when I already have a PC that does everything I need. But I'm glad you're happy with what you've got!
@iCrazyTeddy They won't do this, because they don't want you to have full digital ownership. They want you to have to buy the game again when the next console comes out. It's intentional. This is why elimination of physical media is far more insidious than it seems at first.
@BearForceCubHQ@GeneralJosovic@PlayStation Because we have a limited amount of money to spend, and thus have to choose between options rather than buying every option. If you have enough money to buy every game you want on both PC and console then more power to you I guess. The rest of us pick the best one for our tastes
@DereckMiller10@YunalesckaGames I still have games that I purchased in the 90s proudly on display in my office at work. Most people don't get it but those that do understand those games had a hand in shaping my identity. Kids growing up nowadays will never know that feeling of physically possessing a copy...
@Tremor_Signal@YunalesckaGames The difference is trust. I trust Steam to continue to make games that I've bought digitally available to me. I don't trust Sony to do that. Hell they were just in the news last month for people losing access to movies they had bought and paid for due to licensing
@YunalesckaGames I hate to say it but this is the final nail in the coffin for PlayStation for me. I still haven't bought a PS5 after owning every single previous console made by Sony. In the future, I'll just keep playing my Final Fantasy games on PC I think :( Really bummed.
@BearForceCubHQ@GeneralJosovic@PlayStation I think you're missing the point. Yes it's obvious to all that PC is digital only. The point is that for many people, owning physical games was a major positive for PlayStation. Remove that, and in the competition between PS digital games and Steam digital games, Steam wins.
@PlayStation I never did buy a PS5 after owning the PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. Thank you for confirming I made the right decision in transitioning completely to PC based gaming.
@japan_nobunaga@aeriedad To give some context, there are examples in history of totalitarian governments disarming the people to gain power. Gun owning Americans are aware of this and thus often unwilling to publicly discuss what they have. You don't know who might be listening and keeping records
