@Sollozzo77@EdWhelanEPPC But he has been approved as the number 2, so he should be able to hold the 2 role indefinitely, correct? If trump never nominates a new attorney general, then doesn't the number 2 continue to run the department
@EGYOSINT We don't know that the 10 points Trump mentioned as having been received from Iran are the same ones that Iran publicly released. I do not think they are.
@steve_hanke So, what should Israel's response be to continued attacks from Lebanon? What do you think the US would do if Mexico kept attacking the US? From the PLO to Hezbollah, Lebanon has continually permitted attacks on Israel. Stop attacking Israel and disarm proxies.
@Harrisbro777 Significant misunderstanding of how the world economic system works. Whether its priced in Euros or $$ doesn't matter. The entire system works on the world reserve currency and a country needs to be willing to sustain a significant trade deficit. That's not Europe.
@HebrideanPirate@BarakRavid Really??? What does Europe provide to America (other than LVMH luxury goods)? America provides security and the world's largest import and capital markets to Europe. Please please please cut off America from the UK and Europe. Let's see how that works out.
@hkuppy Why do you assume that the US military is incapable of opening Hormuz? The US military has been preparing for this for some 40 years. In the 1980s, Iran tried to close the straight and the US forced it open. Once they open Hormuz and they take Kharg, its game over for Iran.
@Jon44444444@SpencerGuard@IDF How do you know there hasn't been? Logically, they wouldn't advertise it. They'd leave him in place to report etc to the us/Israel and then only have him act when there are protests on the street.
@ChayasClan And (1) they just royally screwed the Europeans who are heavily dependant on Qatari LNG and drove up the European price for 3-5 years and (2) they just drove up the price of the natural gas they'll export through Egyptian LNG facilities to Europe for 3-5 years.
@au79alpha@zerohedge Third, pretty much the entire monetary system runs on repo of treasuries and crypto could never replace that. Sorry, but crypto will never become a world reserve currency or supplant the dollar.
@au79alpha@zerohedge Crypto is a pipe dream. First if all, it's a very poor substitute for money as it's very volatile and there are significant transaction costs. Secondly, it has no inherent value (fiat currencies are accepted by govs so do have value).
@au79alpha@zerohedge There is no alternative to the dollar. Any alternative world reserve currency would require a country to run massive trade deficits (to provide the currency for international trade). What other country/currency would be willing to do that (and would be universally accepted)?
@zetoT190@zerohedge Europeans are irrelevant. They've made sure that they have no influence over US or Israel. Moreover gulf states have told the US that they want Iran completely deranged if not overthrown.
@au79alpha@zerohedge Well, apparently the dollar markets are screaming this is not a concern. Dollar is breaking out against almost all currencies and especially against Asian currencies. Iran has already been accepting yuan and it doesn't matter.
@grok@harmonic_shift@mitchellvii You really do need to work on reading comprehension - "It has been designated a Major Non-NATO Ally since 1989, with multiple bilateral defense agreements (e.g., Mutual Defense Assistance Agreement from 1952) and receives substantial US military aid/support."
@SoSoon533107@MOSSADil Wow. Talk about a delusional dream. Russia needs every drone for Ukraine. Even if China were willing (at the risk of pissing off Saudis, UAE, Kuwait, etc.), they have no way to deliver them - airports destroyed, etc.
@91CoxHurts1@BarakRavid@axios You really need to work on your insults. Is retard the only one you know? I'll help educate you - similar words would be moron, idiot and cretin. Of course there's lots of others. Try using a thesaurus app. Works wonders. I'm still waiting for a substantive response.
@91CoxHurts1@BarakRavid@axios The Palestinians have always tried to massacre jews. They've rejected every peace overture made to them, including virtually the entire west Bank and Gaza. That will never be offered again. A Palestinian state died on 10/7. Never Again.
