National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag has confirmed that Senator Loren Legarda and her son, Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste, have left the country.

According to an ABS-CBN News source, Leviste traveled to Hong Kong, while Legarda left for Europe.

The same source said Leviste had obtained travel authority allowing him to visit several countries from July 26 to Sept. 24, including destinations in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. | via @ZyannAmbrosio

Huwag kang malito: China ang may sariling interpretasyon ng mga insidente, ng UNCLOS, at ng 2016 Arbitral Award — hindi ako. Ang ginagawa ko lang ay ilahad sa publiko ang totoong nangyayari sa WPS. O baka ang gusto mo ay manahimik tayo habang hina-harass tayo ng China? Ang pananahimik sa harap ng agresyon ay hindi diplomacy — defeatist mindset iyan na wala na tayong magagawa.

Nagulat ako na concerned ka pala sa sakripisyo ng ating mga sundalo, Coast Guard, at mangingisdang Pilipino. Pero sa lahat ng pangigipit ng China sa kanila, ni isang statement ay wala kang inilabas. At correction: hindi kami ang nagpapainit ng sitwasyon sa WPS — China ang lumalapastangan sa karapatan natin bilang isang bansa.

Totoo, marami sa gobyerno ang nakakalimot sa kanilang trabaho, just like you. Kaya pumasok ka rin sa session ng Congress kapag may time ka, at gumawa ka ng batas — dahil iyan ang trabaho mo, Honorable Congressman.

HINDI pulitika ang laban natin sa West Philippine Sea, at hindi ako nagpapagamit kaninuman. Tinitindigan ko ito. At correction: may pakialam ang bawat Pilipino sa pulitika — dahil kami ang bumoboto sa inyo!

Huwag kang magkalat ng fake news, Honorable Congressman ka pa naman. Walang 10 million akong “ayuda.” Pero kumusta naman ang P51 billion na binanggit ni Usec Cabral noong nakaraang taon? Naubos na ba? Maraming naghahanap, lalo na’t bumaha na naman sa Davao. Huwag kang mag-alala — kukwestyunin rin yan balang araw.

Unworthy of Our Respect: A Clear Message from the 37th Commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps - Vicente Blanco III

A bold and clear message has been delivered to all Marines! It is deeply unfortunate that during a recent press conference called by a private lawyer, several individuals attempted to actively associate themselves with the institution.

Let's set the record straight using confirmed facts and the official release from the leadership:

🛑 Out of the 18 individuals presented at the said press conference, the Philippine Navy has confirmed that at least three (3) of them were never part of the Marines or the Navy. They have absolutely no record of service!

🛑 As for the rest, the majority were separated from the service under conditions of dishonorable discharge, while only a few managed to retire in good standing.

🛑 Anyone who was Discharged Without Honor has no right to invoke the famous adage "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" to justify or lend credibility to their actions.

🛑 According to the leadership's information, the involvement of the 3 retired Marines implicated in this matter was entirely of their own choosing and done of their own personal volition. There was no use of force, threats, intimidation, or promise of rewards.

🛡️ As an institution with a time-honored Marine ethos and strong esprit de corps, we should look with disdain upon opportunistic groups or individuals trying to link their actions to being a "true Marine."

👎 As stated by Maj. Gen. Vicente Blanco III, these individuals are "unworthy of our respect."

The stance of the 37th Commandant, Maj. Gen. Vicente Blanco III, is crystal clear. The identity of a Marine is strictly anchored in honor and discipline, and it cannot be exploited by individuals driven solely by personal interests.

It is unfortunate that in the recent presscon called by a private lawyer, 3 retired Marines involved themselves. Barring use of force, threats, intimidation, and/or promise of rewards to them (3 retired Marines), based on the information available to us, we understand that their involvement was entirely of their own choosing, and that they did this on their own personal volition and as such, we should always look with disdain against opportunistic groups or individuals trying to link their actions as being true Marine - they are unworthy of our respect.
