The question should be about how effective they are rather than where they work from. That said, it's a red flag for me that they didn't consider the reaction this video might garner. (Personally-- I couldn't work from the pool๐คทโโ๏ธ)
Every influencer in my feed is now an AI-powered superhuman life coach, but they all sound like they're reading from the same teleprompter. Maybe they all attended the same AI-written TED talk?
I used to work at the Gap HQ. When the team got stressed we used to say "Remember folks, weโre selling jeans and socks."
There are lots of jobs that are life or death.
If yours isn't one of them, remember to calm down and keep things in perspective.
On the left is ChatGPT's response to the question: "What are three most effectives strategies for teaching English Language Learners?" On the right is Google Bard's response to the same question
The next cohort of my Career Management course is now open for enrollment. I have designed this course to pack a massive amount of content very efficiently in just 2 days (4 hours each on Saturday & Sunday, plus 2-3 total hours of optional Q&A sessions).

If students leave our schools with a range of deeply developed skills then they are able to do things ChatGPT cannot.
They can be creative & curious.
They can be problem solvers, critical thinkers & collaborators.
The world will be in good hands if we can teach to these goals

๐ As a chronic rule follower and an early career PM, this thread SHOOK me. In real life pursuing this ideal is asymptotic. This is throwing everything into perspective for me this week.
Being enamored with โtextbookโ product management is the easiest way to unhappiness and burnout.
Instead:
1. Accept the job
2. Slowly change things
3. Love trudging in the muck
4. Throw away the textbooks
I am constantly overwhelmed by the amount of information available to me. I'd love to engage with it all, but I feel like this is realistic perspective that we need in this day and age. I'd love to hear more along these lines.
@shreyas We have Monday and I love it because it lets me ease into the week without having to fear the shock to the system that, say, a major 9 AM presentation would otherwise present.
Certain talented folks should not pick their next job based on which one is the best โlearning opportunityโ. If youโre intrinsically motivated & curious, donโt fall into the Always Learning Never Ready trap. Youโll learn a lot anywhere, so smarter to pick based on company growth.
One way I've grown since the start of my career has been realizing that working for a mission driven organization at a lower salary is sometimes only possible because of privilege. It is not necessarily indicative of moral superiority. A thought-provoking thread:
I see some people being condescending on Twitter about how people join {well-know tech company with bad reputation of the month}.
My take is that joining Meta / Uber / Apple etc for many:
1. Means a massive step-up in career options vs what they have
2. Means a life-changing $$
Sister's theory is that this will secure remote work in most of tech bc corporations won't want to emulate such an eccentric and divisive figure. Dad thinks those who wanted to push for RTO will use this to secure their position. Time will tell.

love this...@OpenSesame has no meetings on Monday which makes it SUCH a nice way to ease into the week and start on Tuesday feeling in command of your time
A common theme Iโve heard from the professional worker community is โIโm so booked up with meetings and I just canโt even.โ So I am rounding up some ideas on how to reduce the number of meetings you attend. ๐งต/0
