another aspect of social media worth praising, is it's role in creating and sustaining long distance relationships. such as parents who work overseas, or children away from home for school, and long distance relationships.

the reading on gender subjectivities and cyber discourse in Lebanon was particularly eye opening. the amount of power religious authorities hold is mind blowing. Middle eastern patriarchy and religion demand respect, whereas the women are expected to conform/adhere to the rules

interacting with digital technology is all about awareness. i would provide my students with a lesson on digital literacy, law, and right&responsibility. This will encourage them to engage critically with content online, and become more conscious users. #lesson13

I agree with Ms.Mouads perspective on the late M.Achkar. If going to trial in a western society, I believe external + environmental factors are crucial in getting a guilty verdict... given that religious authorities would be in charge, disassociation from religion is necessary

Many may not agree, but i dont like with how much we are able to view online. i believe it gives many of the wrong people more courage to act out knowing it will be displayed for the world. in addition, views can negatively boost egos, encouraging more destructive behaviour

after going through the lessons, i can say that my awareness of digital technology has changed. i had an extremely naive approach to digital privacy and will now be more cautions and vigilant of what i agree to and what i post.
