A spokesperson for the Sulaymaniyah Currency Exchange Market told Channel8 that the reason for the dinar strengthening—if the deal is finalized—is "because 85% of the dollar demand in the market comes from traders, while the remaining 15% comes from everyday citizens."
He added that Iraqi PM al-Zaidi's mid-July Washington visit will bolster the dinar through U.S. economic backing.

Fought in World Wars as soldiers to return to America as boys, marched in Birmingham, hosed in Selma, jailed in Wilmington, assassinated in Memphis, segregated in the South, ghettoed in the North, ignored in history books, stereotyped in Hollywood... and in spite of it all someone in your family line endured every era to make sure you would get here and you receive one rejection, face one obstacle, lose one friend, get overlooked, and you want to quit? Let’s not forget LaVena Johnson. She was found dead in her tent in Iraq in 2005. She had a broken nose, loose teeth, burns from chemicals on her private areas to cover evidence of rape, black eye and a gunshot wound. The goverment ruled her death as a “suicide”. She was only 19💔
