(to be fair, I haven't seen such a verbose judgment from Arab authors around the 9th century).

I spent a week reading about Bonatti, but I only got through a hundred pages. The reason is that Bonatti is really verbose. Italians may love to talk.
I think the interesting part of Mundane astrology is that it uses different perspectives to look at things. For example

there must be a LOY today, but who is it?
And this "who", Bonatti listed 50 options, without beginning or end until he found the answer. It's very verbose, that's what the Italians of the late Middle Ages were like
