Why are sons of NBA players so much more likely to become NBA players? Genetics are a big thing, obv. But another big thing is early training in form. The biggest difference I could find between NBA players who had fathers in the NBA and other NBA players is they're great FT shooters. Sons of NBA players make up 8 % of the top 50 FT shooters of all time.
A significant majority shoot free throws much better than their fathers did, as well.
