My goal for reducing screentime is to be more mindful when using social media platform and finding other ways to decompress that don’t involve technology at all but still gives me the satisfaction of mindless scrolling.
#EDUC331 Considering my screen time I have noticed I spend a lot of time on TikTok and Pinterest. I try to use social media platforms as a means to decompress but sometimes it can get out of hand and I go down the rabbit hole.
I think the best way to approach this is to always be considerate and mindful of that line. I believe you can do this by containing to stay on top and educated around how we can use technology mindfully in the classroom.
Some of my peers have stated having separate accounts and pages for websites/ social media is a good way; I agree. I also believe we can achieve this by having a clear understanding of how to intentionally use technology in both our personal lives and out educational practices.
There are many different ways we personally can moderate our tech use. One of the most eye opening applications for myself is the screen time use on the iPhone. This made me greatly aware of my usage which made me limit my time on certain apps.
