Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation — a moment for reform, not just accountability
Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as Union Education Minister following the paper leak crisis is a moment of accountability, but resignation alone is not the solution. What India needs now is decisive reform — starting with paper leak prevention, and going far deeper into how our education system prepares students for real opportunity.
On paper leak reforms:
Tamper-proof digital exam delivery, biometric-linked entry, and real-time forensic monitoring — with strict, time-bound criminal accountability for leaks, not committees that report a year later.
If CBT is to be implemented across entrance exams nationwide, we need roughly 10 lakh CBT-enabled seats built up urgently.
CBSE needs a genuine revamp — its examination department is in poor shape, and with board exams approaching, the focus must be on fixing fundamentals, not window dressing.
On curriculum and exam structure:
The three-language policy should apply only till Class 8; beyond that, students should have the freedom to choose.
CUET should be scrapped or restructured for specialised streams like journalism, where the current format doesn't work.
Board exam scores should carry 10–15% weightage in JEE, NEET, CUET and similar entrances — otherwise schools become redundant. Class 12 also needs one uniform syllabus across boards.
On regulation and accountability:
Private universities and coaching institutes need proper regulation and monitoring, or students and parents will keep being cheated in the name of education.
Rank-buying must be made a punishable offence — for both institutes and parents involved.
On capacity — the immediate fix:
Government colleges in high-demand cities can run two shifts using existing infrastructure, instantly increasing seats without waiting years for new construction — and simultaneously creating contractual teaching and support-staff jobs, addressing both the seat crunch and the employment crisis at once.
On school reform:
The rigid, one-size-fits-all structure must end. From Class 8 onwards, students should choose a Major and a Minor subject based on aptitude — a student passionate about music should be able to take it as a Major and Maths as a Minor, without penalty.
On employability — the real gap:
Our education system is still built around rote scoring, not what employers actually need — problem-solving, communication, digital and vocational skills. This mismatch is a big reason behind the mass youth unemployment protests we're seeing today. Reform can't stop at exams; it must extend to curriculum, skilling, and industry-linked learning at both school and higher-education levels.
The government must treat education — school and higher — with the urgency this moment demands, before the damage becomes harder to reverse.

@ashantpraani One student claimed by multiple institutes. The numbers are multiplying not actual numbrrs and they should be 8-12.
Qualifying score 145-150
Cut off 535-550 for govt college
600 plus 11000-12000.
More of admission hype to attract two year admission before actual reuslts come.

Any tentative date for class 10 Board results as students want to know final results and also apply for revaluation. Some schools have not allotted desired streams also to students based on their first board exam results.

@mlkhattar@LtGovDelhi@AtishiAAP please formulate doable norms and also categorise centers as there are many who cater to only neighborhood children and teach 50-100 students and earn their livelihood. To include coaching centers in educational building is not justified.
@manashTOI Biased reporting. Why are you not talking of sikar, rohtak, Rajkot, ahemdabad, namakal, rewari & how high score data is skewed to one side. STD in Gujarat scored 705 & failed in boards. Kota behind sikar. Chennai another coaching hub behind namakal & guj now new coaching hub.
@manashTOI When I had mentioned to you on June 6th about result discrepancies and paper leak you were not convinced. Pls ask tough questions to NTA to explain high scores and ask them to declare entire results with center and everything will come out. Why are you not asking?
@Shrads_chettri@dpradhanbjp Even in cbse exam the number of full scores has dipped & the level of paper has gone up& on the contrary the level of neet has come down drastically leading to high scores and these trends get limited to only high end scores & low scores are https://t.co/k3k00pzqNM doesn't lie.
@manashTOI All eye wash and even the media is not reporting properly&grace marks should not even be an issue. Even if we assume say 100 students got grace marks to reach 600 plus then also the cut off won't change. Big scam not touched. Wait till Monday and u will see major revelations.
There was a reason why #NTA was established - to ensure transparency & accountability in large public exams. Earlier #CUET exam & now #NEET_परीक्षा_परिणाम shows the contrary. Without making it an ego battle #ModiGovt needs to act as it is about the future of lakhs of students.
@AtulGargDFS , sir please specify are banks required to take fire noc like coaching centers and can fire noc be taken floor wise by coaching centers as they are treated as educational building for more than 20 students.
@nta@dpradhanbjp@narendramodi@NitishKumar the date of jee main fixed by nta is 24 Jan to 31st Jan and the date of Bihar board is 1st Feb. 75 percent minimum to be scored in boards. What an unfair time table by nta for students? Pls postpone jee main to April and then in May.
@JM_Scindia sir very bizzare to find three airports allow azorb skin powder and Dimapur airport disallows the same in hand bag and when asked for cope they say security issue. Very strange
