@GovUganda@ubctvuganda@mofpedU@GCICUganda I am interested to see how the opening balances will be determined and transferred to the ledgers of each government employee for those who have been in employment for a long time.

@Juanmuhindo@BalaamBarugahar So even when a Nursing Officer has a bachelor's degree the Minister thinks that a Clinical Officer with a Diploma is more qualified than a Nursing Officer!
My friend @Uganda_Expozed in the transport business challenged me: If you had UGX 300M would you choose car hire services or coffee farming?
I smiled because I have actually done both.
For transport I have done that through @sectrinesafaris and for coffee I guess I don’t have to introduce myself
So this isn’t me sitting somewhere theorising about transport or farming. I know what it means to put money into a vehicle. I also know what it means to put money into the soil, wait for a crop, deal with weather, labour, pests, markets and everything else that comes with farming.
Let’s do the math
UGX 300M can get you roughly 6 cars(drones) . If each gives you an average net UGX 1.5M a month that’s about UGX 9M monthly or UGX 108M a year. Transport can make serious money but fuel, repairs, insurance, drivers, accidents and downtime are part of the game. And while the car makes you money the car is depreciating.
Now take the same UGX 300M into coffee. Depending on the location, you can acquire 50+ acres of land then use the balance to establish and maintain the coffee until first harvest.
Yes, coffee takes time. Yes, you face drought, pests, diseases, labour and price risks. But these aren’t problems without solutions irrigation and water harvesting, good agronomy, proper farm management, quality improvement and better markets can reduce many of them.
Now imagine those 50 acres eventually averaging just 1,000kg of coffee per acre, sold at UGX 15,000/kg. That’s UGX 750M in gross coffee value in a year.
And here is the part we should not ignore:
The car gets older. The land doesn’t.
After 10 years, your transport investment has vehicles that have depreciated. Your coffee investment can leave you with land, mature coffee trees and a producing farm.
So @Uganda_Expozed let’s have the insight talk. You defend the 6 cars. I’ll defend the 50+ acres of coffee.
Let’s put the numbers on the table and let young Ugandans see the difference between making money and building assets.
Cars move. Land stays. Coffee keeps producing.
How many young people would love us to have this conversation on Sunday ?.
Let’s talk youth investment and youth development

18 ambulances 🚑 worth Ugx 5,062,009,076 were supposed to go to Moroto referral hospital from @MinofHealthUG
The hospital received only 3 ambulances
Meaning, someone at MOH ate 15 ambulances meant for people from the 9 districts of Karamoja sub-region which the hospital serves.
@DaudiKabanda You are both NRM leaders in one way or another. Some issues can be harmonized privately without spilling them to the public! You have caused enemies to celebrate.
Innocent souls died probably on their way to school, for how long are we going to let future generations die just because the leadership is sleeping on their job? I pray the families get a good lawyer who can help them to secure insurance compensation.
