Last Friday saw the first @BFPSOfficial Day of Culture.
Our school is such a diverse environment and it was great to see children being proud of their cultural heritage.

Today is National Poetry Day so to celebrate this, in Year 3 we have been enjoying poetry and writing our own poems. We started by orally rehearsing the poem 'The Grass House' by Shirly Hughes. We hope you enjoy our video. 3S.

Congratulations to our Mini- Eco Ambassadors whose @BFPSOfficial mealbarrow won the public vote at Grow Your Own Grub Mealbarrow Competition at Abbey Pumping Station, Leicester earlier in the summer. Our Growing Report also won the Gold Award. Well done to all pupils involved!

On Tuesday we invited parents/carers into school to view the pupils' artwork which was on display in the Year 2 Real LiFE Art Gallery. The parents/carers enjoyed seeing the great artwork and even did some art themselves!

The Mealbarrow Competition was a huge success earlier this month at Abbey Pumping Station.
This is our first time entering and our Mini Eco Ambassadors should be very proud of their hard work on this project. The overall winner of the competition will be revealed in September

In Year 6 we have been writing our own Maths problems for younger children. Recently we invited the pupils from 3CT to test out our work. Everyone really enjoyed working with different people and the Year 3s had lots of great critique to help the Year 6s improve their questions.

Year 6 pupils have been developing electricity knowledge as part of their Real LiFE mission by designing and building steady hand games. The games were then tested by Year 1 pupils. We also discussed our challenge in raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Friday saw the Year 6 Gadget Shop open to help raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.  There was a real buzz.  All purchases have been entered into a raffle to win a bumper Science kit. Year 5 and 6 can buy on Monday morning and Year 3 and 4 on Tuesday.

Fantastic to welcome teachers from Hong Kong to Braunstone Frith today. Our children and teachers shared work on our Real LiFE curriculum, CREW and Oracy. Yesterday they went to XP School and today Braunstone Frith! Happy days!
