My beloved people of Tooro,
With profound humility and gratitude, I address you following my coronation and the beginning of this important chapter in the life of our Kingdom.
I receive this responsibility with a deep appreciation of the history, traditions, and values handed down to us by those who came before us. The Crown is not merely a symbol of honour; it carries a solemn responsibility to serve our people, safeguard our heritage, promote unity, and contribute to the wellbeing of present and future generations.
Tooro belongs to all of us. Our greatest strength lies not only in our beautiful land and rich cultural heritage, but in our people, the elders who preserve our wisdom, the parents who build our families, the young people who carry our hopes for tomorrow, and every person at home and in the diaspora who proudly identifies with Tooro.
As we move forward together, I call upon our people to embrace unity, mutual respect, peace, hard work, education, and service to our communities. Differences among us should never become stronger than the history and identity that unite us.
Our culture must remain a source of pride and guidance. We have a responsibility to preserve our language, customs, institutions, historical sites, and traditional values while ensuring that our Kingdom continues to engage positively with the changing world around us.
I particularly call upon the young people of Tooro to believe in their abilities, pursue education and skills, embrace innovation and entrepreneurship, and participate constructively in the development of their communities. The future of our Kingdom will ultimately rest in your hands.
To our elders and cultural leaders, I honour your wisdom and ask for your continued guidance. To our mothers and fathers, I recognise your sacrifices in raising the next generation. To our people living outside Tooro and beyond Uganda, you remain an important part of our Kingdom and its future.
My commitment is to serve with humility, listen to our people, encourage reconciliation where divisions exist, and work with cultural institutions, communities and other stakeholders in matters that advance the wellbeing of our people.
This moment should therefore not belong to one individual or one family. It should remind us of our shared responsibility to protect what we inherited and leave an even stronger Tooro for those who will come after us.
May this new chapter strengthen the bonds between our people and renew our commitment to peace, cultural preservation, education, development and service.
May God bless every family in Tooro, guide our elders, inspire our young people, and grant us wisdom as we journey together.
Long live Tooro.
Long live our heritage.
Long live the people of Tooro.
