Cleophas Malala is the former Secretary General (SG) of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the former senator for Kakamega County.

Malala completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education at Friends High School Kamusinga before advancing to USIU for his bachelor’s degree.

Cleophas is an award-winning playwright. He scripted and directed a c
play Shackles of Doom in 2013 and Echoes of War in 2025 which landed Butere girls in trouble.

The lawmaker ventured into politics and was elected MCA of Mahiakalo ward in Kakamega County in 2013. In 2017, he ran for the Kakamega senatorial position which he won.
