@Chuffin_ell Civil service org - head of quality for casework. Had to resign to provide full time care, only to find myself constantly dealing with poor quality service and unlawful casework decisions 🫩 If the orgs I worked for were churning out that crap, I would've been bollocked!

@AndyNelson1977 @tombennett71 Very useful thread - thank you. And surely the answer to any concerns educators have about this is that if the interventions in Sec. F aren't working for a specific child in their specific case, then an emergency review is needed? It's not hard!

@owenjonesjourno @linmeitalks I pay £25 an hr to agency for specialist carer for my autistic kid. Can assure you they don't get even half that as their hourly rate. I'm unable to work and on UC as unpaid carer. Vitriole over low income folks getting discounts smacks of not wanting 'the poors' to share spaces

@AndyNelson1977 I'm a SEND parent with over a decade in public sector complaints and regulation. I'd love to get in a room with the people advocating the scrapping of complaints and put across an alternative perspective.

@Beth_Tastic Also, no shit we're anxious! Parenting on extra hard mode, dealing with multiple agencies who constantly make mistakes or screw you over deliberately, and knowing your kiddo is being let down. If ever there was a reason to be anxious, this is it!

@MartinSLewis Think there's a fourth 'D' here - domestic abuse. Your msg is important but the term financial controller is a bit problematic having been on the receiving end. Hoping you cover that properly, point out the signs of abuse and signpost to support in the full episode 🙏🏼

@martinimarie Get the basics right first time, admit when things go wrong, learn and show empathy. That's the most effective way to reduce complaints and take the wind out of the sails of the minority who behave unacceptably. Even those people probably have unresolved and genuine grievances.

@martinimarie The coverage of this survey suggests schools and related education orgs are v. immature (under-developed rather than childish btw) in complaints handling. Focus should be on improving early issue handling and relationship building to reduce complaints and SARs. 3/
