So, Republicans, hear me: knock it off with the tariffs. A tariff is a tax, and it lands hardest on the exact working family we claim to champion. Cut taxes. Rip out the regulations strangling small businesses. End the tariffs. Let the free market do the one thing it has always done better than any government program in human history — lift the poor and the middle class upward. When a plumber becomes an employer, and a cashier becomes a franchisee, the socialist recruiter has nothing left to sell.

And finish the job in the schoolhouse. Get children out of the madrasas that manufacture resentment and hand parents the choice to send them somewhere that teaches them to think, not to grieve. We do not need another cohort of downwardly mobile degree-holders nursing a grudge against the country that gave them everything. We need free minds and free markets.
