Refers to the development and application of technologies, to monitor and conserve the natural environment and resources, and curb the negative impacts of human involvement. Sectors of impact include soil, air, water and food in both rural and urban landscapes.

For Example: Rainforest Connection’s Guardian System which is intended for forest-protection. The system combines solar-powered sound sensors with artificial intelligence to detect and locate illicit chainsaw use so that rangers can intervene.

Product & Manufacturing 🏭

This track focuses on upgrading manufacturing processes by the implementation of modern technologies such as automation, IOT, AI..etc. Adopting such technologies results in optimizing production, reducing costs, and improving quality.

For Example: Robotic Arm from EEESE 2017 which is capable of performing more delicate tasks than many two- or three-finger grippers, and fully mimics hand movements. It uses accelerometers and flex sensors to sense the hand movements, can be used for grasping and lifting.
