One of the best in the country: Griffin Johnson of Beloit with a new 8th grade school record today in the shot at 58’5” (8.8 lbs, 4.0 kg). We have never seen a throw that far in junior high Kansas in the 12 years of Sports in Kansas (unless we missed it). Benches 305 and is a 450lb squatter at 6’1 275lbs in the 8th grade. Beloit is absolutely loaded with throwing talent over the years and a big reason why is the HS throwing program led by Casey Seyfert, Beloit principal & one of the best throwers in Kansas history. Beloit HS also has the top girls shot put mark in Kansas (Tatum Seyfert) and second best boys mark in Kansas (Eli Johnson, cousin of Griffin).
* note - HS boys shot is 12 pounds. #sportsinkansas
300 career strikeouts for senior Cole Linton of Goodland. Linton had a total of 15 strikeouts in 7 innings pitched against Scott City. Linton has been a back to back all state selection in 3A from Sports in Kansas as he tries to make it three. #sportsinkansas

Two sports, same season: Emerson Weber, Junior at Troy High School, is a dual spring sport athlete for the Troy Trojans. Emerson is in the top 25 in Kansas for javelin and threw 122-3 at the Hiawatha meet to win it. She is also on the Lady Trojan Softball team. The Lady Trojans (7-3) picked up 4 wins this week. They won 15-1 and 17-11 over Atchison High and 11-1, 17-2 over Horton. Weber hit a solo home run to left field in the Horton game on Thursday. #sportsinkansas
Congrats to Griff Johnson for breaking the Beloit Jr High Shot Put record today with a throw of 52’5”. The previous record was 52’3. It was held by Tony Thompson who set the record in 1994! Tony was here today! @BeloitThrowers#TPOD#ThrowFar
I am very honored and humbled to receive this award from SIK! I truly would not be in the position I am today without being surrounded by such great players, coaches, and fans. I am so grateful for the unwavering support the Beloit community has provided the past 4 years. #TPOD
What a special season! Beloit (24-2) takes 3rd at the 3A State Tournament beating SE of Saline for the 3rd time season, 51-37. Here are highlights from our KD Country 94 radio broadcast. @elrhyno@eemd12@Kyle_Beisner@burkejosie23@noahg1818@Kyle_Beisner
