Popping in to share some sad news: We said goodbye to Red, our perfect dog, today. A few of you who got to know him are still here, and know that he was the sweetest boy ever.
Hey friends. I'm basically done with this site. Can't prop up a white supremacist fascist fanboy anymore. I won't be deleting my account (my livejournal is still technically up and running), but will be doing my thing on the other site. Handle @ skydome. Hope to see you there. ✌️
pre-mortem: i disagree with like 90% of what the dems have done, but im also skeptical of all the "would have won if they did x" takes. fascism has a pretty high floor in this country and i think inflation (which is essentially a covid phenomenon) is crazy politically toxic
Someone once said, “If you get on the wrong train, be sure to get off at the first stop. The longer you stay on, the more expensive the return trip will be.” They weren’t talking about trains.
"The Blue Jays won’t [break the bank] but will hang around with their valuation in the event that Soto’s market breaks their way. They took a similar approach with Gerrit Cole during the right-hander’s free agency in the 2019 off-season, so this is low-probability stuff."

Bloor/Spadina, Nov. 4, 8:34am. Over three minutes I saw 23 vehicles and 25 cyclists, including one parent with baby.
The only congestion was caused by a vehicle. Will @fordnation@PrabSarkaria pass special legislation to take away this person's minivan?
@JoshuaHowsam When a big tech convention comes to the Convention Centre, say, you typically see banners along Front Street saying "Welcome TechCon 2024". That's all this is.
Funny how this detail has been elided from the discourse re the Taylor Swift street signs. But I also disagree that they're embarrassing. These shows are going to be a HUGE tourism boost for the city, probably a bigger economic impact than TIFF, which gets a lot more signage.
I saw a few social media posts from service workers in NOLA saying that Taylor's recent shows there were busier than Mardi Gras. Think about that. Maybe that's worth a bit of fuss?
The signs and all the other stuff is about the visitors, not trying to suck up to Swift herself.
