There is not one biblical example of Satan inserting thoughts into a believer’s mind.

Satan tempts believers from *without* through circumstances, people, and existing desires—not by bypassing the mind the place thoughts directly within it.

This is a critical theological distinction.

God promises that no temptation will overwhelm believers beyond their capacity to resist, and He provides an escape route with every trial (1 Cor 10:13).

This promise becomes meaningless if Satan could directly implant sinful thoughts into a believer’s mind; the believer would lose agency and the ability to choose the escape God provides.

I walked into a Church of England church during Pride 2026 and couldn't believe what I was seeing.

A sacred place of Christian worship had been turned into a drag event, with security removing anyone who objected.

"Everyone is welcome," they said. Everyone but straight, white, heterosexual Christian men.

Jesus would never 'tolerate' the desecration of the Church. He would have flipped the tables.

Almost everyone knows that England is the home of football. What most don't know is that football developed in England because of the church and its evangelistic outreach to young working-class men. Football was a way of reaching young people with the gospel and building their character, so the church started football teams. Aston Villa began as a bible study group and it was William McGregor, a director at Aston Villa, who founded the Football League in 1888. Familiar teams like Manchester City, Everton, Southampton, Queens Park Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers -which was originally called Christ-Church FC and was started by a pastor - were all started by the Churches.

Sport continues to be a great opportunity for reaching young men, building character and resilience and sharing the gospel. When I was a young pastor in Fulham, London, I started a church football team and we joined the (brutal!) London churches league, and we saw several young men come to faith in Christ through it. I would encourage churches all over the West to recover this engagement with sport.

As an Englishman, I would love to see England win a World Cup again. Like many football players and fans, I've watched & waited since childhood in the 1970's for England to win a major tournament again. We haven't won the World Cup in 60 years (1966). The national pride that comes with winning a World Cups is huge. As a nation, we don't deserve to win. We are morally bankrupt and in deep decline because we have turned away from the Christ who even gave us our football heritage. Only a return to Christ and the gospel can restore our nation and perhaps, once again, our national pride.
