This isn't the way to go, and I cannot understate my disappointment in Jinxxy as a platform. DRM like this is a slippery slope that will eventually lead to the same clusterfuck that is DRM in Videogames (like Denuvo).

@CatMay0 I thankfully got a refund on the avi, but i’m not gonna lie, the way they are shaping the narrative with all of this rubs me the wrong way. they got called out, then blame others for it. some took it too far and that can’t be defended, but that shouldn’t void the arguments.

Update: I have beared witness to the project being wiped and the software removed from the Druffle package.
Understand that this was poor handling and there was NO malicious intent.

For anyone interested in this situation: The creators of the Druffle have removed their "DRM" from the avatar. It is now just a unitypackage.

Valid criticism in a constructive manner is important, and I'm glad to see that the creators have taken steps to remedy the complaints raised.

We have removed the verification system from the Druffle, it is now just a regular package.

Yeusepe is deleting everything from his server and is willing to have people check him on it.

We just wanted to be innovative with a new tool to help protect creators work..

@KazeeAme same, sad part is i did try and reach out to the creators via their discord to try and resolve the issue. seems tho as they have no interest in it sadly. have seen people mention here on twitter that it’s already been pirated…

@KronosProtogen I’m not sure what i’m more upset about, the creators doubling down on DRM causing people to not get their files, or them having their stuff already pirated. this entire situation has really been blown way out of proportion.

@KazeeAme so in other words: you are authorizing a script to download stuff you bought from a non-jinxxy site which requires you to hand out your information to their systems (an account) to simply gain access to the files you bought.

@KazeeAme No passwords are shared here. that is true, however from there you download a “individually created package” that essentially carries a small trace of whose it is. every one is unique so they can trace back who’s leaking assets in case that happens. (part 3)

@CatMay0 @meaty_tw This was a lot of my thought process as well regarding access, however its not an exe, simply just a dll thats loaded into the unity editor to handle it. More akin to anti-piracy than DRM after some clarification from the creators.
