@Derdooba@afrucanun Akhi this is too harsh let's calm down. But you're right that he's dead wrong. Mugdishu was already mentioned by the ancient romans 2000 years ago, it was called "sarapion".
@afrucanun@PoliticalReadX are you denying that proto somalis and cushitic related people were there in the benadiri region including mugdishu much before the creation of "barawa"?
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa Lord have mercy yes i KNOW. Most historians widely agree because of all these ancient reports and because of the fact that the 2 most ancient port cities in the horn, Adulis (eritrea) and zeila (northwest somalia) those two regions are the most likely direct descendants of punt
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa Omg I KNOW northern somali regions had most of the resources Egyptians reported from Punt, that's why I said BOTH regions were likely the region of punt. And since punt wasn't "somali" or "habesha" it was an early cushitic group that predated both we can ALL claim it.
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa This image you are showing i already know about lol. I know but the romans only came to the Horn 2000 years AFTER punt was recorded so ofc cushitic groups scattered and developed their own cities after all this time. This isn't as crazy a discovery as you think it is, lol.
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa The sabeans nor the himyarites were mentioned in the same era as punt or at least when punt was first mentioned. The woman’s referred to proto Somalis as berberia this was like 2,000 years AFTER punt
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa Bro who the hell is harti?? 😭😭 and the only civilization recorded in the horn for that era was punt. Are you saying the egyptians went past Eritrea and into the somali region without mentioning a distinct civilization if there was one?
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa Look, I'm not disagreeing that it was very likely in the somali coast mainly northwest somalia or even northern somalia in general, but you have to agree punt was an early cushitic civilization and based on evidence, it was primarily in Eritrea or at least extended there.
@LandofPuntites@kijana_misa No Somalis can claim punt most cushites have the same ancestry so most cushites can claim punt anyways. Punt was actually most likely located in the Eritrean coast and northwest Somali coast according to historians
@PoliticalReadX@Zaadillaah_Ilma@afrucanun Mogadishu is even believed to be the ancient port city of Sarapion, which was documented by Romans in the 1st-century CE Periplus of the Erythraean Sea. Very interesting stuff
