$39,975,000 changed hands in the name of horses in one evening...yet some still being left to starve and suffer when no longer wanted. Just? Fair? Right?
Why can't it be top prices AND proper care for all?? Why is it always OR??
Think About It....

@SwiftHitter This horse landed in this place after a second career as an event horse. This is on that trainer. This is absolutely devastating, but this kind of bullshit awful animal husbandry is not isolated to racing alone, and certainly not just to Louisiana racing.
Just a note on the horrific story of Adriana Smith: the surgical teams had to remove the baby BECAUSE SHE WAS BEGINNING TO DECAY.
You fucking monsters. Her death BACK IN FEBRUARY was not enough you ghouls, now you have a 29 ounce struggling, tortured baby in the NICU.
Fuck the LAPD, and fuck law enforcement’s use of animals as copaganda and as weapons to brutalize human beings.
Horses are naturally skittish; their instinct is to flee, not to “attack.” Their limbs are fragile, meaning they can shatter when being forced to stomp a human body. In the footage circulating of the anti-ice protests where cops are using horses to harm protestors, the animals are clearly in distress and the danger to both human and animal is evident. In one viral video, a cop tried to use his horse to trample a protestor then had to resort to using his baton, but ended up smashing another cop’s horse in the face. In the past few years police horses have died after being spooked by drones, from heat exhaustion, and neglect by officers who don’t feed or water them.
And then there are the K-9 units. There are 50k active police dogs in the US and they are bred and trained primarily for “suspect apprehension” - though of course, the majority of “suspects” bitten by dogs are not dangerous threats. They are also disproportionately black. (This practice dates back to slavery days when dogs were used to hunt down escaped slaves.)
The training for these animals is violent, and the way they are used on human beings is violent. At the end of the day, the animals are not the problem, the protestors are not the problem; the COPS are the problem.
Today, I filed a formal complaint of neglect against the Puerto Rico Racing Commission, the veterinary clinics at Camarero, and the owner of Kayseri.
This is her story.
Kayseri was a University of Kentucky–bred filly who began her career under Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse at Woodbine. From that point forward, she was failed again and again. She ended it in a mass grave behind Camarero.
After dropping in class, and racing in two countries, following a 9th-place finish at Gulfstream, Kayseri was shipped to Puerto Rico in a shipping container on a cargo vessel, for a harrowing 3-day journey across rough seas.
Despite intervention efforts from me and the University of Kentucky, no one protected her. Every trainer, every owner who handled her played a role in her decline, but it was in Puerto Rico where the most heinous betrayals occurred.
Red flags were ignored. Pleas for help went unanswered. The commission stood down. Her veterinarians looked away. And her owner ran her into the ground.
Kayseri deserved better. So do the thousands of horses who’ve been euthanized at Camarero.
🎥Please watch and share. This has to stop.

Tyler's Sensation last raced Nov. 16, 2024 at Delta Downs for owner/trainer Brent Delahoussaye. Now six years old, he never raced well. But might have lived a decent life doing something else.
How the hell did he end up starved like this?
Why does Louisiana law allow it?
💣's away in the G2 Risen Star!
Magnitude goes gate-to-wire and dominates the competition at 43/1 under @_benacurtis for trainer Steve Asmussen!
The 3YO colt picked up 50 points towards the @kentuckyderby! 🌹
