@CaseyWard2709@ELOfficePWCS @PKobrynELSpec A4) Echoing the crowd, I don't have a single tool that immediately comes to mind. I wish text-to-speech tech was more helpful to my students during the creative writing process. Getting their most raw/original thoughts on paper is always difficult. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
@CaseyWard2709@ELOfficePWCS @PKobrynELSpec A3) I feel very prepared to create conditions for language learning (P2); having empathy, creating an enjoyable/engaging classroom climate, and demonstrating expectations of success are cornerstones of my teaching.

@CaseyWard2709@ELOfficePWCS @PKobrynELSpec A2) Principle 3 is my current focus--specifically differentiated instruction. I differentiate by interest/general academic level; I need to be more intentional with ELs. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
@PKobrynELSpec @ELOfficePWCS@CaseyWard2709 Q4 A4) I am excited to gain day-to-day applicable strategies. I look forward to breaking down the principles and learning how to apply them in our classrooms.

@PKobrynELSpec @ELOfficePWCS@CaseyWard2709 Q3 A3) #2 Create conditions for lang learning. In writing class, helping students feel comfortable taking risks is pivotal. I share my own language learning experience (fluent in Swahili) and describe my struggles/successes during my own learning process. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
@PKobrynELSpec @ELOfficePWCS@CaseyWard2709 Q2 A2) Sounds like many people are on the same page with EL-specific tech tools (Lexia, translation apps, and closed captions). Teaching writing, I find some EL students really prefer typing to handwriting (or even sometimes vice-versa), so we accommodate that as needed.
@PKobrynELSpec @ELOfficePWCS@CaseyWard2709 Q1 A1) Creative writing assignments about identity allow students to celebrate their culture; word origin/root discussions allow them to make connections with other languages. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
