Today, the EFF’s mayoral candidate for the City of Johannesburg, Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng, visited Ward 111, specifically the Ebony Park voting district (VD), one of the strongest VDs in the ward.

Dr. Mofokeng conducted a walkabout through the streets surrounding the IEC registration station, engaging with residents and encouraging them to register to vote and support the EFF in the upcoming local government elections.

She also visited nearby businesses and establishments, where she educated owners and workers about the City’s bylaws, emphasizing the importance of compliance while listening to their concerns and discussing practical solutions to improve the local business environment.

The visit formed part of the EFF’s ongoing voter registration campaign and community engagement programme, demonstrating the movement’s commitment to building stronger communities through direct interaction with residents and local businesses. @drtlaleng

Condolences to the Mjali family.
EFF will ensure that they receive Justice. They must know that as long as the EFF is alive they will get a justice.

Minenhle Lilitha Mjali (also referred to as Lilitha Minentle Mjali), a 22-year-old woman from South Africa, was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Midrand, Gauteng, in April 2026.

The alleged attack occurred around the early hours of 18 April 2026 at a home in Noordwyk, Midrand. She was reportedly at her boyfriend’s house when he allegedly called three friends. The four men are accused of taking turns sexually assaulting her before strangling her.

Her body was found on 24 April 2026 (about a week later), hidden under a bed and wrapped in plastic, following an anonymous tip-off to police. It was reportedly in a decomposed state.

Her mother only learned about the discovery a week later. When she spoke to the boyfriend (a suspect), he allegedly showed no remorse.

Four young men (including the boyfriend) were arrested and appeared in court on 5 May 2026 on murder charges (and related allegations). One suspect has reportedly turned state witness.

The suspects are due to appear in Alexandria court 3 on the 17 May 2026.
