Huge news! I’m beyond thrilled to announce that @KentuckyPress will be publishing my book Sky Watch: The Untold Story of America’s Greatest Show Horse in May 2023 as part of their Horses in History series. I can’t imagine a better home for this project. (Photo by Doug Shiflet)
End-of-semester feels from an intro to creative writing student: "I am really proud of my work. I don’t know that it's good enough to be in a real, published collection one day, but it's exactly how I want it. I’m excited to keep writing." MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
I tweet for the fourth time in six months because this seven-year-old YouTube video of Agility Mastiff is still my favorite thing on the internet. https://t.co/vxkR4b4N8d

@MillinersModel It is always ok to leave a job that doesn't work! The narrative around academic jobs is so different from the rest of the working world. I'm leaving a VAP position after this semester. Counting down the days.
My amazing students in @FCApogee are working their tails off to encourage @FranklinCollege students to submit their creative writing and artwork by October 31! Franklinites, take heed. https://t.co/h0EcgsCIIK
I love seeing my work in @JournalFlying alongside other fine midwestern writers! This piece is dedicated to women, Saddlebred horses, and what we learn from each other. It includes my grandmother, my daughter's namesake. Let the damline continue.

Today, I learned that Aretha's 1968 Grammy-winning hit is "Chain of Fools" and not "Chain of Food." Two months ago, I learned that Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen" features a "white-winged dove," not a "one-winged dove." What other icons have I been miss-singing for decades?
